A. PRICE
- Prices are net per tent
- Room and package rates are for maximum two adults per room in Floating Tents and four adults in Island Tents.
Accommodation price includes:
- Accommodation, Breakfast
- Regular check-in and out boat transfer between the Embarking Point and the Resort
- Complimentary wireless Internet access in common areas and tents
- All Cambodian taxes
Price does not include:
- Tours & meals other than breakfast
- Personal Travel Insurance
- Boat taxis, others than regular, between embarking point and the Resort
- Land or air transfers from/to the embarking point
- Personal expenses
- Gratuities for the crew
Additional Reminders:
- Please DO NOT bring food from outside. Your food and drink items will be kept temporarily at our reception area and collected upon check out.
- Corkage fee of $15 per bottle applies to drinks brought from outside the hotel premises.
Check in and Check Out Times:
Canvas & Orchids Retreat is accessible only by boat. To ensure a smooth pick-up at our embarking point please give us your local phone number or that of your guide/driver and contact us prior to arrival (follow our how to get here directions).
Regular check-in and check-out boat transfers are included in your booking. To preserve our unique location and environment please help minimize our boat’s fuel consumption during your transfer to/from Canvas & Orchids Retreat by being on time for your check-in/out boat transfers.
- There are two incoming and two outgoing transfers every day
- Check-in: The boat is scheduled to leave our embarking dock in Tatai village at 2:00pm and 5:00pm.
- Check-out: Check-out time is before noon, so please be ready to check out at 8:00am or 12:00pm, when the boat leaves Canvas & Orchids Retreat for Tatai village.

- Extended stay discount: every fifth night is free
- Early bookings (90 days in advance) -10%

C. SUPPLEMENTS
- There is a 13% room rate increase during the festive season, applied to the rate of the respective season
- There are compulsory festive dinners on December 24 (49$ including special BBQ dinner) and December 31 (59$ including countdown entertainment)
D. CHILD POLICY
Children over 12 years of age are considered to be adults
- FLOATING TENTS:
- As we do not have a stock of extra beds, we have equipped each floating tent with a sofa for one 4 to 12-year-old child.
- A baby cot can be added for infants up to 4 years, but we cannot guarantee availability.
- A floating tent can comfortably accommodate a maximum of 2 adults, one child (at extra cost) and one infant (at no cost).
- ISLAND TENTS:
- Children stay for free in the Island tents when sharing the tent with the parents.
- An Island Tent can comfortably accommodate a maximum of 2 adults and 3 children (one on the sofa), with shared bathroom
Traveling with babies up to 4 years old
- A baby is an up to 4-year-old infant.
- Accommodation, excursions and meals for infants are at no charge.
- When booking, please do not include accompanying baby(ies) on the booking form but mention them in the Special Requests (on the second page) section.
- Under 4-year-olds can sleep in their parents’ tent at no charge, but their baby food has to be provided.
- If you need a baby cot, please mention it in the Special Request section, although we cannot guarantee availability.
Traveling with children between 4 and 12 years of age
- Accommodation, excursions and meals for children are offered at a 30% discount
- As we do not have a stock of extra beds, we have equipped each floating tent with a sofa which can comfortably accommodate one four to 12-year-old child (at extra cost). For your comfort, please book the number of tents accordingly.

F. BOOKING & CANCELLATION
Individual bookings:
Due to the remoteness of Canvas & Orchids Retreat, walk-in guests are extremely rare. Every booking is carefully prepared and taken very seriously. Logistical means are involved; consequently, we are needed (even if unpleasant) to request advance payments for booking as well cancellation fees to cover our preparatory expenses or an eventual business loss in case of a late cancellation. Therefore:

- More than 30 days prior to check-in date: no fees – payment is refunded

- More than 60 days prior to check-in date: no fees – deposit is refunded
- Between 60 and 31 days prior to check-in date: 30% of price is due
- 30 days, or less, to check-in date or no show: 100% of contract is due
G. GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- You should seek advice from your doctor regarding relevant inoculations and prophylactics for travel in Cambodia.
- You should be fully insured to cover any risk of medical repatriation, and we are in no way responsible for such liabilities.
- The Hotel Manager is responsible for guests’ comfort and safety. Therefore, you must accept their decisions and instructions.
- Whilst our crew does everything in their power to facilitate embarking/landings during some day trips, access to the boat/land can be difficult, with steep and sometimes slippery riverbanks. Elderly guests should consult their doctor to ensure that they are fit for travel. We can assist you in case you are using wheelchairs to access the Resort, but you cannot participate in field trips.
- We accept no liability or responsibility for loss or damage to your property whilst at the Resort. you should secure your valuables in the room’s safety box or in our central safety box.
- Once a booking is received, a contract binds us, and these terms and conditions must be adhered to.
- In the event of a dispute, the law of Cambodia will apply.
H. FORCE MAJEURE
Definition: In this contract, “Force Majeure” refers to any event or circumstance beyond the reasonable control of either party, including but not limited to natural disasters (such as floods, earthquakes, hurricanes), acts of war, terrorism, strikes, pandemics, or any other event deemed to be an extraordinary natural or human-induced occurrence.
Consequences of Force Majeure:
- Non-liability for Cancellations: In the event that Canvas and Orchids Retreat is unable to fulfill its obligations under this contract due to a Force Majeure event, the Retreat shall not be held liable for any losses, damages, or costs incurred by the Travel Agent or its guests as a result of such cancellations.
- Safety Priority: The safety and well-being of guests are the highest priorities. In the event of a Force Majeure, all efforts will be made to ensure the safety of guests, and appropriate measures will be taken in coordination with local authorities.
- Handling Bookings: If a booking is affected by a Force Majeure event, Canvas and Orchids Retreat will offer the following options:
- Rescheduling: Guests can reschedule their booking to a later date without any additional charges, subject to availability
- Credit for Future Stay: Guests can receive a credit for the amount paid, which can be applied to future bookings within one year from the original check-in date.
- No Mandatory Refunds: Refunds will not be automatically issued for cancellations caused by Force Majeure events. However, Canvas and Orchids Retreat, at its sole discretion, may decide on a case-by-case basis whether a partial or full refund is appropriate, depending on the specific circumstances.
- Communication: Canvas and Orchids Retreat will promptly inform the Travel Agent of any Force Majeure events affecting the bookings and will provide regular updates on the situation and the measures being taken.
Guests and Travel Agent must abide by these terms, and we reserve the right to either cancel an existing reservation or to refuse guests if these terms have not been adhered to.
